Henrik von Eckermann: "I gave King Edward a resting period to focus on the Rolex Top Ten!"

On Friday Henrik von Eckermann secured an amazing victory with his Belgian Warmblood horse,  King Edward in the IJRC Rolex Top Ten Finals. "It was one of my focuses after the World Championships when I gave King Edward a bit of a rest"

"King Edward jumped fantastic today. I took a long turn to the fence number four and actually didn't think I would have been fast enough. But for sure King Edward has showed us - again - he is without a doubt the best horse in the world"

“Winning this class was one of my focuses after the World Championships when I gave King Edward a bit of a rest, and wanted to build up slowly again, and this was one of the targets, absolutely. It has been a target for many years. Like I said when we had the Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final in Stockholm when Daniel Deusser won it; I walked the course and spoke to Eleonora [Ottaviani] and said one day I would like to win this one, so it’s a very special moment for me.”
