Pieter Devos: ‘We are trying our best to keep the management of our activities under control with the welfare of our staff as priority’.

Pieter Devos expressed his disappointment this morning in an interview with equicty following the cancellation of several show jumping competitions around the world such as the FEI World Cup Finals in Las Vegas, where he currently ranks in 2nd place. ‘It’s a big set-back for us all but the most important thing is to look after ourselves first’.

With all competitions being cancelled, horses and grooms are making their way back home, Pieter says ‘the stables could be in havok for a while but we are trying our best to keep the management of our activities under control with the welfare of our staff as priority’.

By limiting the amount of staff Pieter has working at one time, himself and his team have been able to take the necessary precautions and communicate this effectively through the use of equicty mobile applications. Pieter states, ‘Our employees are notified of all changes that have been made to the horses schedules and have been allocated only the most important tasks that meet the needs of the horses’

Pieter Devos stresses on the point that ‘the well-being of ourselves and employees is priority at this stage, so we will let things settle down in terms of training for the time being’.
