We will only know in the spring of 2021 if the Olympics of can take place or not. The Japanse vice Minister Toshikai Endo stated on television.
"In March 2021 we will evaluate if it is save to allow atletes in our country", Endo says. "Depending on the situation we will decide of the Olympics can take place and under which circumstances", hinting the the 'light' version of the Olympics where no audience is allowed.
The IOC earlier stated that it is looking into organizing the Olympics without an opening ceremony or to test every atlete before the competition starts.
