No World Cup Finals for Sanne Thijssen: "Jumping like this for three days in a row is quite a challenge for Con Quidam..."

Yesterday Sanne Thijssen celebrated her silver team medal in Herning. As the only one from TEAM NL, the World Cup debutant will not be competing in the finals tomorrow. "Three days of jumping in a row is a lot of work for Con Quidam. He has done enough now..."

"When I ran the course on Friday I was kind of impressed, but I fought for a clear round. It had to come from his toes. Con Quidam RB has to rely on his fighting spirit. Three days of jumping in a row is a lot of work for him. On Friday he really gave everything. I had a pole on the middle, but then he finished that difficult line well."

Due to the cancellation of Christian Ahlmann, Thijssen would normally start as a reserve. Still, she refrains from this decision.

"Yes, this is a conscious choice. Realistically, it is impossible to get a medal. I'd rather save him so he can last a bit longer. So I don't have any double feelings about it at all. We went home with a silver medal and that is of course very good. Furthermore, he just jumped super. Now Con Quidam RB needs some rest. His first big show will probably be Calgary. I will go to London next week. Thus Sanne Thijssen."
