After two days of giving everything they had, today the consolation test of the World Championships for 6-year-old horses was ridden in Lanaken. Nearly 160 combinations started in this 1.35m high class, in which only Thierry Goffinet with Kalif de l'Aulne managed to stop the chrono clear under 57 seconds.
Goffinet sent the chestnut SBS gelding from Etoulon VDL around the Ramiro Z arena in a time of 56.32 seconds. Only Rania Dindane managed to come close with Diabolique TMS Z (Diamant de Semilly) and stopped the time at 57.24 seconds with a clean sheet. The bronze medal went to Alessandra Reich and Galadermie PP Z (George Z).
Benny Naessens also put in a great performance, and jumped to fourth place with Kapitein Cento ter Linden (Boyfriend du Seigneur). The top five was completed by Charlotte Smet in the saddle of Diamond Quality Z (Diamant de Semily).
