Christian Ahlmann accepts administrative fine after positive medication test

The German showjumper, Christian Ahlmann has accepted a fine he received after a positive controlled medication test with his horse Mandato van de Neerheide (Emerald). The German showjumper accepted the fine, but states he wasn't aware his horse was treated with the medicines.

In Leipzig Ahlmann won a youngster class with the gelding. After his victory Mandato tested positive for  Dexamethason.  The FEI categorizes this medicine as a controlled medicine, prohibited at competitions. However the substance isn't on the list of prohibited substances.

"Mandato hasn't been treated with any medicines in the past six months," Ahlmann states. "However as a rider you are responsible for your horses 24h a day. I can only accept the decision of the FEI."
