1. Although the most beautiful girths have a nice elastic, it doesn't help at all? The elastic has no advantage for the horse. In fact it does make our saddle a bit more instable with as without the elastic.
2. The tension on the girth depends the movement of your horse. When your horse is walking the tension is lower as the horse would stand still. However tension augments when trotting or cantering.
3. The highest pressure point is not on the brestplate of the horse. In fact it is situated behind the elbows.
4. If you tighten the girth to much, you might limit the horse in its movements. This means that one rail might have been blamed on a to tight girth.
5. Is it a surprise?? Men do tighten their girth way more as women. Maybe that's the secret why most succesfull, elegant, riding jobs are done by girls?
