Top sire, Dallas VDL passed away. "A tragic accident..."

The Dutch VDL Stud has announced the passing away of their grey stallion, Dallas VDL  "Due to an unlucky acident at the stallion show in St Lo, we had to put our top stallion Dallas to sleep today," VDL Stud writes.

The stallion, from the breeding of Frans Kenis, jumped with Jur Vrieling at the highest level for several years. The duo last competed internationally in 2021. The pair won, among other things, the CSI5* 1.45m GCT in London in 2019 as well as the CSI5*w Puissance in Oslo in 2018.

The stallion has also made his mark in the sport. The son of Douglas has just under 700 offspring, including Don Corleone Z, Osiris FZ, Shanroe Peeters, etc.

"We are really going to miss this top horse!" The 16-year-old BWP-sire, was born as Indouglas van het Bevrijdthof. He is a halfbrother of VDL Stud's Grand Slam VDL.
