While in some countries riding schools can open their doors again for private lessons, this is not yet the case in Germany. In a general message some German riding schools warn that this situation is drastic.
"In some riding schools, the debts already run up to over 10,000 euros. As Schools are closed, there is no income, however the costs remain," explains Andreas Vroom the President of the Equestrian federation in Bremen. "It is really in the interest of the sport and the horses that the measures are getting more flexible, otherwise I fear that (some) riding schools will have to slaughter some of their horses".
