Harrie Smolders has taken over the reins of the 14-year-old stallion Darry Lou (Tangelo vd Zuuthoeve x Nabab de Reve). Darry Lou, the jumping talent from Evergate Stables was previously seen in the ring with Nayel Nassar on American soil.
Darry Lou was sold to Evergate Stables in 2020 after the stallion managed to achieve multiple successes with American Beezie Madden in the saddle. Madden and Darry Lou won the CN International at Spruce Meadows in 2019. Since the beginning of 2021, Darry Lou could be seen with Evergate Stables rider Nayel Nassar who managed to achieve many good results with the stallion such as a victory in the CSI5* 1.55m CANA Cup at Spruce Meadows last summer. This weekend Harrie Smolders and Darry Lou will make their debut in the ring at the Z-Tour in Lanaken.
