Sportive retirement for Johnny Pals' stallion Fernando

Johnny Pals announced the retirement of Fernando (v. For Pleasure). The now seventeen-year-old stallion may go enjoy his well-deserved rest but will remain active in breeding.

The handsome bay appearance played a major role in Pals' career. The duo competed all over the world together. The biggest shows in the world, from Nation Cups to the World Cup and Grand Prix classes, the world was their playground.

In September 2014, the then eight-year-old AES, KWPN and NRPS approved stallion came under Pals' saddle. The Dutchman trained him from 2* level to a horse that competed at the world top. Together they ended up on the podium more than fifteen times, three of them on the highest scaffold. The stallion jumped to over 255,000 euros in prize money during his career.

The Holstein son of For Pleasure won the 5* Nations Cup in Dublin in 2016 and jumped to silver in front of his own audience in the Global Champions Tour of Valkenswaard in 2021!

"He has meant a lot to me, I got to ride him everywhere. He is a very special horse and may now deservedly enjoy his retirement. In addition, he may enjoy some more in breeding." we hear from his loyal rider Johnny Pals.

"I would like to thank his owners, Jan Vink of Stoeterij Black Horses and Kees van den Oetelaar for letting me ride the superstar!"
