The CSI4* 1.45m Prix du Smedar at Rouen put many riders and horses in distress as only seventeen combinations out of the 65 starters managed to stay clear. The top spot was conquered by Robert Murphy and Hulde G.
65 combinations dared to tackle the 1.45m high course, with seventeen of them completing it flawlessly. In this Table A competition, Jérôme Guery guided the thirteen-year-old Cristel (Diamant de Semilly) without fault to the finish line. With the breeding product from Stoeterij het Maalwater, Guery secured the third position. Victory was for Robert Murphy. The British rider was just half a second faster in the saddle of Hulde G, a KWPN mare by Vigo d'Arsouilles bred by Van Geel Horses. Second spot was for Alix Ragot en Diaz de Ush (Kapitol d'Argonne).
Mel Thijssen filled in fourth place with Florida Balia NL (Bustique). The top five was concluded by Francisco José Mesquita Musa aboard of Miss-Sarajevo Imperio Egipcio.
