A year ago, Epaillard took home the main prize in the World Cup course in Amsterdam, and this year, the French rider claimed victory in the Grand Prix of Amsterdam. In the saddle of Dubai du Cedre, Epaillard left the competition with no chance in this 1.60m competition.
On the Baloubet du Rouet daughter, Epaillard was one of the ten combinations that qualified for the jump-off. With a stunning difference of over two seconds, the French duo triumphed, leaving two local combinations behind. For Greve, who took an honorable second place, it was a strong debut in a 5* Grand Prix for his mare Pretty Woman van 't Paradijs (Vigo d'Arsouilles). Kersten concluded with his Funky Fred (Fantomas de Muze) in third place.
Epaillard was pleased with this new victory on his record: "Winning the World Cup and the Grand Prix consecutively requires two superb horses. I am extremely satisfied with Donatello and Dubai."
Dubai had just a few weeks of rest after giving her best in the two biggest classes in Geneva. "We started again two weeks ago in lower classes in Oliva. She felt very fresh in the basic round of this World Cup, but in the jump-off, she performed superbly. I felt we could take risks; everything was easy. After the second obstacle, I decided to go all out. Dubai is in top form and always gives her best; it's fantastic to ride her."
