In the CSI5* Worldcup Longines Ranking class of Sharjah it was again Egypt's Abdel Said who left behind the other combinations. In this 1.50m competition Said speeded to glory aboard his 10-year-old Arpege du Ru (Apache d'Adriers). The combination was the only to finish clear in under 34 seconds.
With about a second difference Jack Whitaker followed as runner-up. The Great-Britain show jumping rider followed on stage aboard his 10-year-old daughter of Scendix, Scenletha. The stage was completed by Paolo Paini with the 14-year-old Ottava Meraviglia di ca' San G (For Pleasure).
Said's compatriot Mohamed Talaat placed fourth with Darshan (Diamant de Semilly), while Germany's Jörg Naeve completed the top five aboard his 15-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare, HH Fleur (Darco).
