Abdel Said impresses in St Tropez

At the Hubside Jumping Tour in St Tropez it was a toplevel sport that was offered in the 1.45m Longines Ranking class. A total of 14 combinations qualified for the Jump-Off, eventually it was Egyp's Abdel Said who speeded to victory aboard Arpege du Ru (Apache d'Adriers).

As first to go the pair were the only to keep the timer under 38 seconds. About half a second slower, Nicolas Delmotte followed as runner-up with Urvoso du Roch (Nervoso). Dutch show jumping rider, Jur Vrieling completed the stage aboard the sBs-gelding Fiumicino van de Kalevallei (Plot Blue).

The pair was followed by Brasil's Marlon Modolo Zanotelli and Icarus (Douglas) while Carlos Enrique Lopez completed the top five aboard G & C Arrayan (Baloubet du Rouet).

"Arpège is a very fast mare, which actually makes my job a  bit  easier at the competition," states Said. "Sometimes you decide to spare a horse for some bigger classes, later  in the weekend. This time, however this was the biggest class of the week  so we went all-in."
