Beezie Madden wins Speed Cup at Split Rock Jumping Tour's Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Columbus

Two-time Longines FEI World Cup champion Beezie Madden rode Jiva to victory in the $36,000 Horseflight 1.45m CSI3*-W FEI Speed Cup at the Split Rock Jumping Tour's (SRJT) Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Columbus CSI3*-W at Brave Horse Show Park in Johnstown, Ohio.

SRJT's two-week stay at Brave Horse culminates Sunday with the prestigious $135,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Columbus CSI3*-W Presented by CaptiveOne. Some of the sport's biggest names - including Olympic veterans and contenders - are on hand looking to qualify for the 2020 Longines FEI World Cup™ Finals in Las Vegas next April! Tickets are now available.

Madden earned the win in Thursday's $36,000 Horseflight 1.45m CS13*-W FEI Speed Cup with the fastest clean round over the 14-effort, one-round course designed by Olaf Petersen, Jr. of Germany. She finished in 56.400 seconds on her 10-year-old, Belgian-bred mare who won three classes in the event's National division last year. Placing second was Daniel Coyle of Ireland who had held the lead for most of the class with a clean round in 56.900 seconds on Cita. Third went to Andrew Kocher and Squirt Gun with a clean round in 57.140 seconds.

"Jiva is naturally fast and she gets around the course quickly," said Madden, a four-time Olympic medalist. "I think my turn inside the bush between fences 3 and 4 was probably what made the difference, though."

The week's schedule includes divisions from .85m and up with three FEI rated classes. Upcoming highlights include the $40,000 CS13*-W 1.50m Welcome Class on Friday and the $135,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Columbus CS13*-W Presented by CaptiveOneon Sunday.
