In Paris, under the foot of the Eifel Tower, the last CSI5* class of the day was jumped just now: a 1m55 with jump-off. Eight combinations managed to jump a clear first round, including the winner of yesterday's Grand Prix and French speedster Julien Epaillard. So one thing was already written in the stars: it promised to be a very fast jump-off. Christian managed to set a very fast time quite early in the jump-off with Otterongo Alpha Z (by Darco): 35.26 seconds, which gave him the lead in the provisional standings. When the last rider, Roger Yves Bost, had to enter the ring, Ahlmann was still in the lead. Bost got off to a very good start with Del de Denat (by Air Jordan) but did not manage to shave Ahlmann's time. Bost's time of 37.97 seconds eventually earned him sixth place. So another victory for Ahlmann, who fell heavily at the beginning of the LGCT in Mexico.
Penelope Leprevost, who also got to sit on the Grand Prix podium yesterday, finished second this time. Ridden by GFE Cany de Nantuel (by Luidam), she made a nice attempt to improve on Ahlmann's time but her 35.36 seconds fell just short in the end. Omer Karaevli finished in second place. He counted on the 11-year-old Policeman (by Perigueux) to jump a clear round in 35.94 seconds.
Ben Maher and Point Break (by Action-Breaker) finished in fourth place. They maintained the clear and clocked off in 36.63 seconds. Nicolas Pizarro and DMS Enkidu (by Ensor vdh Pleville) completed the top five.
