Kent Farrington remains world number one
The new Longines FEI World Rankings for the month of August, 2017 sees Kent Farrington securely in the World No. 1 position for the third consecutive month, while fellow American, Mclain Ward, sits in the World No. 2 position for the second month in a row.

After four weeks of top performances in Calgary and Aachen, the American Olympic silver medalist shows no signs of slowing down. Farrington spent most of his July season in winning form where he jumped to victory in the ATCO Queen Elizabeth II Cup Grand Prix CSI5* at Spruce Meadows and the Prize of North Rhine-Westphalia CHIO5* at Aachen. These key wins in Calgary and Aachen added to his 217 point lead.

As the CSI5* summer show season winds down, key players are striving to push their names higher on the list. Kevin Staut moves up one spot to the World No. 3 position, while Steve Guerdat and Sergio Alvarez Moya broke into the top ten, ranked World No. 7, and World No. 9, respectively.
