Laura Kraut and Bisquetta conquer Chantilly CSI4* Grand Prix

No less then 17 combinations qualified for the Jump-Off in the 1.55m CSI4* Grand Prix at the Chantilly Classic event. After a clear Jump-Off in 41,26 seconds, USA's Laura Kraut jumped to victory aboard her 9-year-old Bisquetta.

Horse Pilot-sponsored rider, Kraut was only 0.06 seconds faster as Giavanna Rinaldi (USA) and the 11-yearold, Parrandero (Clarimo). For his homecrowd, Roger-Yves Bost completed the stage.

'Bosty' jumped to the third place with his 10-year-old Delph de Denat (Air Jordan).  The combination was followed by Valentin Marcotte (FRA) and Diego del Caribe (Kannan).

The top five of this Grand Prix, was completed by Canada's Beth Underhill and Dynastie de Beaufour (Diamant de Semilly).

But today, it was Bisquetta's first ever Grand Prix victory that delighted Laura Kraut: "I love Chantilly. It's been a while since I won here, but I'll take it! I'm very happy. It was a beautiful course and she (Elena Boix Gracia, the Spanish ring steward, editor's note) did a great job throughout the week. And when there are seventeen play-off places, you'd better go fast!  Just fast enough, as Laura Kraut beat her American compatriot Giavanna Rinaldi with Parrandero by just 9 hundredths: "It's crazy! This time, I'm happy to be on the right side... for once". Bisquetta, her 9-year-old mare by Bisquet Balou Vd Mispelaere, will be her second Olympic asset for Paris 2024 after Baloutinue (by Balou Du Rouet, team silver medallist at Tokyo 2020): "She's incredible, a mare full of promise for the future. This is her first Grand Prix win and I hope it's the first of many. For Paris, Baloutinue remains my first choice for the moment, but you've seen Bisquetta knocking on the door (laughs).
