It was an exciting 1.60m Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup today in Aachen offering top level sport. From the beginning the Swiss team impressed and jumped into a shared leading position. In the end The Swiss did stick to their gold medal, referring Great-Britain and Belgium to the second and third place in this Nations Cup.
After the first round in this Nations Cup competition Sweden, Switzerland and France were in the lead with four points. In the end Kevin Staut was the last for France and also Sweden did not hold up their performance of the first round, eventually placing sixth and seventh.
For Switzerland, Martin Fuchs was the second but last rider at the start aboard Commissar Pezi (Commissario). The pair set a clear round securing the Nations Cup victory for their country. Also Steve Guerdat and the 14-year-old Venard de Cerisy (Open Up Semilly) produced a double clear.
Both with 8 points after the first round, the Great-Britain and Belgium showjumping team did manage to reboost their performance and keep it clear, jumping into the second and third place.
