In this way, the “Silver Camera” for the best equestrian sport photo of the year will once again be jointly conferred by the Sparkasse Aachen, the Rheinischer Sparkassen- & Giroverband and the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V. (ALRV) at this year’s CHIO Aachen (July 14th-23rd). The jury, comprising of Christophe Bricot (last year’s winner), Rob Ehrens (national coach of the Dutch show jumping team), Andreas Müller (Executive Director, Zeitungsverlag Aachen), Erich Timmermanns (Director Advertising & PR, Sparkasse Aachen) and Frank Kemperman (Chairman of the ALRV), were faced with the difficult task of choosing the best equestrian sport photo from among the 100 entries submitted by photographers from all over the world. “It is not easy to select just three nominees from so many different and professional photos, because each individual photo reflects a special moment in equestrian sport,” was Frank Kemperman’s résumé.
The following have been nominated for the “Silver Camera” (in alphabetical order): Arnd Bronkhorst (the Netherlands), Eric Knoll (France) and Libby Law (New Zealand). The winner will be announced in the Main Stadium on Saturday evening, July 22nd, after the “Sparkassen Youngsters Cup”. The winner receives prize-money to the value of 2,500 Euros, the runner-up collects 1, 000 Euros and 500 Euros goes to third place.
