Preview: First edition of the Holland Horse Sale

The Holland Horse Sale is an auction of 4-, 5- and 6-year-old show jumpers of international allure. The auction is the initiative of Hans Dings and Coen Wijlaars who together have decades of experience from the equestrian industry.

“Setting up a top class auction during the busiest time of year. That seems like a great idea to us,” Coen Wijlaars says.

On December the 8th and 9th Dings and Wijlaars together with their team invite you to the inaugural Holland Horse Sale that will take place at the equestrian center PSC Den Goubergh in Roosendaal, Netherlands.

The first edition of the Holland Horse Sale has to be solid as a rock and will be the beginning of an exclusive annual event, where top talent and buyers from all over the world meet.

The collection holds 25 high quality young show jumpers – horses a show jumping yard normally would keep to bring them along to perform on the highest level of the sport. In the collection are also junior and amateur horses as well as hunter prospects.

"The collection and the location will surely contribute to the success of this unique auction,” says Wijlaars.

Quality, soundness and transparency are key for the Holland Horse Sale. The selection committee has full background of all horses, are fully vetted and all info is accessible for interested parties.

Highlights - showjumpers

FanFan la Tulipe - a 5 yo KWPN stallion by Diamant de Semilly x Emilion

FanFan la Tulipe
FanFan la Tulipe

As a showjumper this FanFan la Tulipe has got it all. Power, blood, sharpness, attitude and a great pedigree. The father Diamant de Semilly has now been outperformed by a wide range of offspring at the highest level in show jumping. FanFan la Tulipe is displaying the qualities to equal his relatives. At the age of three, this muscleman was invited for the KWPN performance test. At the same studbook his full brother Houdini was approved several months ago. Both are cousins of Wodka L (f. Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve) who jumps at Grand Prix level with the Norwegian Cecilie Hatteland. To complete the whole picture, FanFan la Tulipe meets all requirements.

Galant - a 4 yo KWPN gelding by Spartacus x Lord Z

Galant
Galant

Even though this son of Spartacus is still at the beginning of his showjumping career, he has already won a fair amount of classes. At aptitude tests he scored consistently high points and in the classes for four year olds he was continuously awarded top marks by the judges. Every talentscout put this gelding on their wishlist this season. Not only because of his exemplary manner of jumping, but also because of his power, rideability and sharpness. Galant's name suits him perfectly, because he scores an A+ for character. With Marco Kutscher, the father Spartacus won no less than the Grand Prix of Oslo. Grand Prix stallion Lord Z in the damline added the necessary blood and sharpness to Galant's pedigree.

First of April - a 5 yo KWPN gelding by Arezzo VDL x Oklund

First of April
First of April

The father Arezzo VDL passes on his qualities. It is therefore not surprising that we regularly see him in the pedigrees of this auction's collection of horses. And how could Arezzo be anything but excellent, with the accumulation of 1.60m legends like Chin Chin, Heartbreaker and Renville. The mother Amaretto CL is an elite mare by Oklund, who is in his turn half brother of the Grand Prix stallion Plot Blue from Marcus Ehning. First of April proves himself to be very compliant. He seems to be able to read your mind and only needs one word. His good technique and boundless power will convince you.

Gerlinus - a 4 yo KWPN gelding by Sheraton x Guidam

Gerlinus
Gerlinus

Showjumping genes are spoon-fed for Gerlinus. The father Sheraton jumped under Suzanne Tepper and Jur Vrieling at 1.55m level and the mother Zerlina (f. Guidam) is a descendant of the famous Oberlina-line. Her full sister Vivo Linus jumps at Grand Prix level under Norwegian rider Christian Anfinnsen Oien. Closely related family members who also jump at this level are Zorro (f. Clinton) under Vincent Lambrecht, Umeunig Z (f. Untouchable) with Katharina Offel and Zolina with Evelyne Blaton. Last KWPN Championships awarded the final round of Gerlinus with a 9,0. This uncomplicated jumping talent has everything it takes to become an international success.

Eminence - a 6 yo KWPN gelding by Arezzo x Pacific

Eminence
Eminence

If it weren't for the fact that there is a height limit for six-year old jumpers, Éminence would have already outperformed his mother. Now they both act at 1.30m level. This Arezzo VDL son looks like he's not even close to his limit. His power and gummy were undoubtedly passed down by his father Arezzo VDL, who impresses at shows under Jessica Kuerten and Jur Vrieling. As a stud, he stood out at last years KWPN stallion approval. His first year of offspring contained the approved stallion Hampshire VDL. His mother's father Pacific, a son of Corland, is the horse with whom Wout Jan van der Schans achieved the most victories in Europe.

Chink Wishfull - a 4 yo Zangersheide gelding by Cream on Top x Vulcano

Chink Wishfull
Chink Wishfull

If you're going for looks, than you will end up with Cream on Top. An attractive head, a friendly eye and the usual dish in the nose are typical for his offspring. Besides the good looks of his offspring, it must not be forgotten that Cream on top himself jumps at 1.45m. Even though Chinks Wishfull doesn't have a ton of experience, he will soon be stealing the show overseas. His jumping manners belong in the hunter arena. And if you are in love, someone else will be too. Chink Wishfull is an eye-catching type with perfect jumping manners.

Cream Couleur - a 4 yo Zangersheide gelding by Cream on Top x Vanoverbeek

Cream Couleur
Cream Couleur

What goes for all descendants of Cream on Top also goes for Cream Couleur. Good jumping manners and a cooperative character makes him the ideal competition partner. Even though Cream Couleur only reached the age of four, he already made the necessary miles at competitions. Just like at home, he excelled in his constant performance. Partly because of that, he seems to be on all areas the classic example of a hunter. To us it's a fact that he will make somebody happy in that direction.
