Tragedy in Münich as McMahon's horse is euthanized
Tragedy happened at the CSI3* Grand Prix in Münich today. Irish rider Eoin McMahon has been hospitalized, and his horse Questfinder put to sleep, after a fall at the water jump.

Carl Hanley - McMahon's employer - announced the news on their official Facebook page:

“We were just with Eoin in the hospital after his fall at the water jump in Munich GP today, he is shook up with heavy bruising, a broken finger and a concussion but the CT of his brain and spine were clear! He has to stay in hospital for 24 hours for monitoring and then should be back home tomorrow evening so he is very very lucky to come out with only these injuries!

As to our horse Questfinder, he broke his leg in the fall and had to be put to sleep on the spot, a sad day losing such a great, kind and wonderful horse that we enjoyed working with for almost 3 years!”

The 9-year-old Questfinder (Quintender x Landstreicher) has been competed by McMahon since the end of 2014, and has been produced up to 1.50-level by the 20-year-old rider.

We wish McMahon a speedy recovery, and send our condolences to the entire team at for Carl Hanley Sporthorses on the loss of their horse.
