Gilbert Böckmann is the new national coach of the New Zealand team. The German was the coach of the Australian team for six years, but now changes 'nationality'. He assisted the Australian team during the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games.
Böckmann says he has never been to the island itself but would like to travel there one day. Most of the riders on the New Zealand team live in Europe.
