Gregory Wathelet's Coree to retire from the sport

This week Belgium's toprider, Gregory Wathelet is the host of international sport at the  Jumping International Courrière. On Sunday it is looking forward to the CSI2* Grand Prix. With a ceremony Wathelet will also honour his trusted Corée (Cornet Obolensky) officially retiring from the sport.

Aged 16-years-old the grey-mare can look back to an exceptional career, with amongst other the Rolex Grand Prix victory in Aachen. "Coree teached me a lot. I want to understand the development of a young horse. This is really interesting. With Coree, for example, I had my doubts when trying her. She was complicated. She taught me to let a horse develop at its own pase."

With Wathelet the mare was good for the win in the Nations Cup finals in Barcelona, won the CSI5* Grand Prix of Shanghai, The Worldcup in Leipzig and of course the CSIO5* Grand Prix in Aachen.
