Harry Charles concluded an incredible week in London with a win in Monday night's CSI5*-W 1.60m London Grand Prix. On Friday the two won Friday's CSI5*-W 1.55m Champagne Taittinger Ivy Stakes. On Sunday Charles claimed victory in the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup with his eleven year old mare Stardust (by Chacco-Blue).
Charles was able to count on Borsato (by Contendro I) to cross the finish line in 33.53 seconds in this 1.60m course. Ben Maher followed with Ginger Blue (by Plot Blue) in second place. The duo ticked off the clock at 33.94 seconds. Frenchman Edward Levy and Rebeca LS (by Hh Rebozo) completed the podium in a time of 34.30 seconds.
Harrie Smolders (Dolinn N.O.P.) was fourth in this Grand Prix. Edouard Schmitz (Gamin van't Naastveldhof) followed in fifth place.
Speechless Harry Charles
"I don't know what is happening this week. I can't speak", Charles said in an interview after his Grand Prix victory. "Yesterday, and now today the Grand Prix, on two different horses. I haven't been out of the top three the whole weekend and it's just amazing. I will never have a show like this again."
Bad draw
"It was not a great draw", the only 22-year old rider said about being first to go in for the jump-off. "The horse, it's his third win in a row. His last three starts, he had three wins and we won here on Thursday. He jumped again again today and won me first five-star Grand Prix."
