McLain Ward and Contagious win second round of Longines FEI World Cup Final II in Leipzig

In Leipzig, the second round of the Longines FEI World Cup just came to a thrilling close. The course proved to be a lot more difficult than during the first round yesterday with only seven combinations who managed to advance to the separate jump-off. There, three combinations were able to stay double clear. In the end it was McLain Ward with Contagious who took over the lead after this second round.

McLain Ward rode in the saddle of Contagious (v. Contagio) in 44.03 seconds to victory in the jump-off of this second round of the World Cup Finals. Harry Charles could count on the thirteen-year-old Zangersheide gelding Romeo 88 (by Contact van de Heffinck) to ride to second place in a time of 47.14 seconds. Following on three was Jack Whitaker and Equine America Valmy de la Lande (by Mylord Carthago HN) with a time of 48.66 seconds.

Harrie Smolders kept the Dutch honor high and rushed to fourth place with his trusty gelding Monaco (by Cassini II). Gregory Cottard and Bibici (by Norman Pre Noir) settled for fifth place.
