McLain Ward has kicked-off his international week with a victory. In the 1.40m Tryon Welcome Stake, McLain speeded to victory aboard KWPN-mare, Elke Maria M. Last month this 11-year-old mare was still competing with Dutch Julia Houtzager-Kayser.
In Tryon the new pare made a winning debut. On stage, Hunter Holloway followed with Pepita Con Spita (Con Spirit) while Teddy Vlock completed the stage aboard Charly Brown. McLain also competed Elke Maria's-son, Mundill DS. With this 8-year-old Darco-son the American show jumper competes at a 1.45m level.
