New changes FEI rules. Time allowed has a bigger influence and clear definition of allowed hind boots.

A new year also means some changes in the FEI jumping rules. At the end of 2021 we already announced some of the changes, now we give a full overview for the jumping riders.

Gymnastics and schooling at the warm-up

Gymnastics and schooling at the competition warm-up ground is no longer allowed at FEI events. Also certain exercises as well as placing poles during a warm-up to a competition is no longer allowed.

Time allowed in Table A

A major change is the point system for the time allowed in the Table A competitions. From now on, one penalty is now recorded for each second over the time allowed. This used to be one point for each set of four seconds started. Mainly for Nations Cup competitions this will have a huge impact.

Only one set of spurs and one whip is allowed at competitions.

Hind boots, vet wraps and pastern bands

The hinds boots are now clearly defined. According to article 257 details describe they must have a shape that allows them to be bent around the horses' legs without effort. The use of vet wraps and pastern bands under the boots is now allowed.

CSI5* Grand Prix qualifiers

According article 261, nr.4 a rider who is not placed in the top 500 of the Longines Ranking and/or prequalified for a competing in a 5* Grand Prix must have competed a 1.50m course with a max. of 4 penalties or a 1.55m, 1.60m Grand Prix, Nations Cup or World Cup with a max. of 8 penalties before he can compete. This with the same horse he is qualified with.

Invitation system

For the CSI2* changes have been made for the invitation system in the appendix. Also changes apply for the groom and rider accommodation for CSI5* events as well as a maximum number of starters.
