A total of ten combinations took the start in the traditional Masters competition in Mechelen. In the end the final Jump-Off was competed by five combinations. Last rider at the start, Simon Delestre and his Iniesta V (Zambesi TN) speeded to victory. On stage Harrie Smolders followed as runner-up with his Bingo du Parc, while Germany's Daniel Deusser completed the stage with Kiana van het Herdershof.
Final Jump-Off
In the final Jump-Off a total of five combinations took the start, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and France. First to start was Belgium's Wilm Vermeir aboard his trusted Joyride S beten de spits af. In front of the home crowd, Vermeir and his son of Toulon took a swift start but jumped the first rail down and eventually finished with eight points.
At the start, Germany's Daniel Deusser followed aboard the 12-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare, Kiana van het Herdershof (Toulon). The pair took all risks setting a fluent round with sharp turns. Even towards the double combination the pase was upgraded to conclude with a clear Jump-Off in 29.22 seconds.
Harrie Smolders was the next to take his chances. Aboard Bingo du Parc (Mylord Carthago), Smolders looked to follow the same route as Deusser, but with a strong galop he bested the time finising in 29.04 seconds.
Switzerland's Bryan Balsiger delivered some great sport aboard Chelsea Z (Chellano Alpha Z). The pair kept it clear but was a bit of seconds too short. After a clear Jump-Off in 31.86 seconds they eventually settled for the fourth place, because final combination at the start, France's Simon Delestre, speeded to the win!
Delestre and his Dutch-bred, Iniesta V (Zambesi TN) jumped to the win in 28.55 seconds.
