St. Tropez: Gaudiano grabs dazzling victory in CSI3* ranking class

On the French Riviera this weekend, there is jumping at CSI3* level just now, the CSI3* riders came into action for one of the highlights of the day: the Longines ranking class. In this, not only eternal fame but also precious points for the Longines ranking could be earned. In this 1m45 class with jump-off, 16 combinations managed to record a clear first round behind their name. A denouement with as many as 16 combinations therefore had to be decisive.

In that jump-off, it was fast Italian rider Emanuele Gaudiano who beat all competition. Riding the 10-year-old Julius D (by Arezzo VDL), he did not come close to the wood and stopped the chrono after 36.04 seconds. In doing so, he left another fast rider, Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida behind. The Portuguese steered his Karonia L (by Harely) through the jump-off without any jumping faults and clocked off in 36.36 seconds. Thibault Touron was the first Frenchman in a pack of French riders. He was allowed to sit on the third podium step with Pilgrim SW (by Cornet Obolensky) after a clear jump-off in 36.67 seconds.

Penelope Leprevost (Djagger Semilly) and Megan Moissonnier (Alva) finished fourth and fifth.
