MSPCA Hosts Adopt a Champion Parade at Silver Oak Jumper Tournament
The Silver Oak Jumper Tournament is currently underway at the Fieldstone Show Park, just 28 miles south of Boston, featuring stars of the show jumping world. This Sunday, before the riders compete for top honors in the $75,000 Agero Grand Prix, Nevins Farm will be hosting the Adopt a Champion Parade.

The Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals features a very special program at Nevins Farm in Methuen, MA. Nevins Farm is a unique 55-acre animal care complex that provides shelter and adoption services for both farm and companion animals, as well as an exceptional equine program, including rehabilitation, adoption services, and a world-renowned equine ambulance program.

On Sunday, horses that are currently available for adoptions at the Nevins Farm will be shown off to the crowd as they search for new homes with loving owners. Last year, three horses were adopted after this special event, and the MSPCA hopes to see that work continue.

Charlie Jacobs of Deeridge Farms is a Boston native and a strong supporter of program at Nevins Farm. β€œI think it is wonderful that the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament is supporting Nevins Farm,” said the Boston Bruins principal. β€œNevins Farm is a shelter that will take in unwanted horses and try to find homes for them, which is a very difficult challenge. Many unwanted horses end up at kill shelters or being sent across the boarder to be harvested, which breaks my heart. Jeff Papows and Silver Oak are putting the spotlight on Nevins Farm and the great work that they do. The hope is that the parade will showcase the horses to the spectators and maybe they will adopt one of theses horses.”

Each year, the Boston Bruins works every closely with the MSPCA to help raise funds for their worthy causes, and as an equestrian, the program at Nevins is very special to Jacobs and his family.

The Adopt a Champion Parade will get underway at 11 a.m. on Sunday, August 17th, and will be followed shortly by the $75,000 Agero Grand Prix. Further information on the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament is available on line atwww.SilverOakJumperTournament.com
