Leone’s meticulous attention to detail seems to foster success in everything he does – from the training of his Grand Prix show jumpers to the organization of his barn’s tackroom. Peter Leone’s own winning formula continues to pay off in the show ring – in addition to his Olympic team silver medal for the United States in 1996, he has achieved high placings in six World Cup finals. “After 20-plus years, I’m now modifying my coaching and teaching business to just upper-level riders on their way to international jumping,” said Leone. Before returning north to his home base in Greenwich, Connecticut, Leone will compete throughout the duration of the Winter Equestrian Festival with Wayfarer and Capito Z, alongside the rest of the Lionshare Farm team of horses and riders. Leone has been making the winter commute to the Winter Equestrian Festival since 1976. As his training business evolves, the details that will remain the same are his commitment to setting riders and their horses up for success by helping them cross the fine line between good and great.
