Portugal wins Gold at Mediterranean Games
While the top of the show jumping world has arrived in Monte Carlo and Knokke the Mediterranean riders are competing in Tarragona for the Mediterranean Games. After the first day it was Portugal who claimed the gold medal.

For Portugal the fresh national champion, Rodrigo Almeida with his 10-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare, Isolde vd Heffinck (f. Contact vd Heffinck) and Duarte Seabra with Harlequin du Carel-son, Fernhill Curra Quinn kept it clear.

Compatriots, Luis Sabino Goncalves (Acheo Di San Patrignano, f. Ephebe for Ever) and Anthonio Jose Matos Almeida (Irene van de Kwachthoeve, f. Griseldi) jumped one time fault and one jumping fault.

With the same points but not as fast, the French show jumping team follows as runner-up with a Silver medal. Three French pairs kept it clear. Felicie Bertrand with Sultana des Ibis (f. Quidam de Revel), Alexandra Paillot in the saddle of Tonio La Goutelle (f. Orgion des Champs) and Titouan Schumacher aboard his Zangersheide-gelding, Atome Z (f. Amadeus Z*Brimbelles). Italy took home the bronze medal.

As individuals it areFilippo Marco Bologni met Quidich de la Chavee (f. President),  Pilar Cordon with Jérome Guery's former, Grand Cru van de Rozenberg (f. Malito de Reve) and Abdel Said with 9-jarige BWP-mare, Hope Van Scherpen Donder (f. Quadrillo) who are in the lead for the finals.
