Impressive riderslist for the Longines Global Champions Tour kick-off in Mexico
From March 22 to 25, the best equestrian circuit in the world returns to Mexico. The Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT), which this year celebrates its thirteenth edition, is the most prestigious international equestrian circuit in the world and with the largest economic prizes, with 35 million euros. The competition, called "the Formula 1 of the Equestrianism", is made up of 17 legs located in the most emblematic cities of the world.

Mexico City will have the privilege of being the first venue of the 2018 circuit and the only stage in Latin America, with the best riders worldwide. The event will be in the grass arena of Campo Marte. In addition, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Olympic Games of Mexico 1968, the best riders and horses in the world will compete, half a century later, on the same stage. The Campo Marte will once again be the epicenter of the world horse race for the pride of Mexico and of all Mexicans.

Thirteen of the twenty best riders of the Longines FEI ranking have confirmed their attendance, among which are Kevin Staut (FRA), Lorenzo de Luca (ITA), Simon Delestre (FRA), Eric Lamaze (CAN), Maikel van der Vleuten (HOL) ), Scott Brash (IRL), among others.

The Germanic team consists of a large number of members, including the best ranked: Christian Ahlmann, Daniel Deusser, Marcus Ehning or Philipp Weishaupt.

Belgium will have a great representation in the Aztec country, led by Gregory Whatelet, winner of the Aachen Grand Prix, Pieter Devos, Jérome Guery, the twins Philippaerts and Jos Verlooy. The brothers López, Carlos and Rene will try to sound the Colombian anthem.

The Spaniards Eduardo Álvarez Aznar, Sergio Alvarez Moya and the current champion of Spain, Paola Amilibia, will also compete in the Aztec track.

The sports program consists of thirteen tests that will be held over four days and that will distribute more than € 1,160,000 in prizes. The CSI2* consists of a total of six events in which most local riders will participate.
