One of the World Cup finals heroes: Louis Konickx the course supervisor
Not only Steve Guerdat could count on a nice thumb up after his Longines World Cup Finals victory, also Dutch course builder Louis Konickx got a huge Thumbs up. Colleague Santiago Varela and FEI show jumping Chairman, John Madden congratulated the Konickx on the design of his final course.

Also the riders were impressed. "Thanks to the creativity and work of Louis this edition of the World Cup Finals has been an exceptional one, " states Madden in the closing press conference.

Louis Konickx was the Foreign Technical Delegate at the Finals. "I had to act as a sort of supervisor of the course. My job was to estimate or better to ensure, the competition would be fair," explains Konickx. "In the past the home course builder often did build to technical or to big making it an unfair competition for the foreign riders."

The cooperation between Konickx and Spanish Santiago Varela has a long history. "We have the same ideas. I do believe we make a great team." concludes Konickx. Both already worked together in 2012 in 's Hertogenbosch for the world cup finals.
