Fifth deadly accident in eventing since beginning 2016
This weekend, once again a young eventing-rider died when he fell during a national eventing-competition in Buenos Aires. The 34-year old rider Santiago Zone is already the fifth rider to die this year after a bad fall... Of course this raises questions about the security of horses and riders during several eventing-competitions.

The spokesman of the FEI stated that he had been informed there had been an accident. But he couldn't comment on the situation yet, since he didn't have a lot of information.

This accident undoubtedly raises questions. Zone is already the fifth rider to die during a competition this year. Last month, Nikita Sotskov died after a fall during the Ratomka Horse Trials. In America, Philippa Humphrey didn't survive a fall from her horse and in April, the 19-Caitlyn Fischer died. In March, Olivia Inglish fell at the International Horse Trials in Australia and died from her injuries.
