Injuries keep top riders Dubbeldam and Greve on the sidelines for now

Weerselo/Markelo - Jeroen Dubbeldam and Willem Greve have to watch from the sidelines for the time being. Both are struggling with injuries, which will keep them out of action for the next few weeks.

Jeroen Dubbeldam will definitely miss the entire outdoor season. The rider from Weerselo was operated by Bart-Jan Veen, an orthopaedic surgeon in Enschede, the Netherlands, four weeks ago after he dislocated his shoulder while lunging a horse. "Normally there is a period of six to twelve months before you are fully recovered, so this summer I can forget it anyway." The horses of the multiple international champion are currently being ridden by his girlfriend Annelies Vorsselmans and stable rider Lars Wigger.

Willem Greve excelled last Friday with two flawless rounds on Grandorado TN in the first Nations Cup of the season in Rome, which brought the national team led by the debutant national coach to third place. A day later, however, things went wrong on the back of his other top horse Highway M TN. While warming up for the class over 1m55 he suffered an injury to the 'rider's muscle'.

Greve hopes to be back in three weeks during the CHIO Rotterdam in the 'Kralingse Bos'.
