Koen Vereecke takes the win in the 4* 1m55 Grand Prix of Opglabbeek

In the Sentower Park in Opglabbeek a busy competition week has come to an end. It was concluded with the most important class of the week: the 4* Longines Ranking Grand Prix over a height of 1m55. We had a nail-biting jump-off with a total of twelve participants. Only the top eight was able to stay double clear and out of these eight competitors, Belgium's Koen Vereecke was the unbeatable rider. After several top placings last week this was the icing on the cake of an extremely successful competition.

For this Grand Prix Koen Vereecke was in the saddle of the eleven-year-old BWP stallion Lector vd Bisschop (by Bamako de Muze), the horse with which he already jumped to a fourth place on Wednesday. Today, however, they wouldn't settle for a fourth place and they went all out for the win. The duo finished in a time of 38.16 seconds and although they tried eagerly, no one managed to beat that time without making a mistake. And so Vereecke and Lector vd Bisschop became the deserved winners of this 4* Grand Prix.

The Swedish rider Alexander Zetterman kept it exciting. With Triton Hastak (by Cabachon) he came six hundredths short of the victory and in 38.22 seconds he finished in second place. His compatriot Wilma Hellstrom followed with Cicci Bjn (by Ci Ci Senjor Ask) in third place. Andreas Schou and Darc De Lux (by Darco) jumped to fourth place.

The fifth place was for Belgium as well. Jens Vandenberk and the BWP stallion Faldiano (by Heartbreaker) took care of that.
