Marlon Modolo Zanotelli races to the win in first LGCT competition of Doha

It was an exciting day for the horses and riders at the Longines Global Champions Tour of Doha with the first competition of the GCL on the programme tonight. Ultimately it was Marlon Modolo Zanotelli who took home the win with his eleven-year-old mare Like A Diamamond van het Schaeck!

Although Olivier Philippaerts remained at the top of this CSI5* 1.55m class for quite some time, he was knocked off the first place by the last few riders. The Brazilian rider Marlon Modolo Zanotelli could count on the eleven-year-old BWP mare Like A Diamond van het Schaeck (by Diamant de Semilly) to take home the gold. He recorded a clear round in the fastest time of 65.70 seconds. Simon Delestre had to settle for second place. Riding the Zangersheide gelding Dexter Fontenis Z (by Diarado), he crossed the finish line in 65.91 seconds. Olivier Philippaerts could count on the 16-year-old H&M Legend Of Love (by Landzauber) to complete the top three in 66.43 seconds.

Marlin Baryard-Johnsson (H&M Indiana) took care of the girlpower today and ended fourth. Ludger Beerbaum (Mila) could count a fifth place.
