ARTURO PARADA VALLEJO TAKES THE EL PALACIO DE HIERRO TROPHY
In a repeat performance of yesterday, Arturo Parada Vallejo (MEX) and the Westphalian stallion Cornet’s Dream were double clean and quick to take the El Palacio de Hierro Trophy.

Sixty-four competitors rode Anderson Lima’s (BRA) sixteen effort course.  Ten riders went around without lowering the height of any obstacles, however two of them scored time faults.  Eight returned for an exciting jump-off that resulted in six double clear rounds.  Female show jumpers from Mexico represented four of the six, Maria Fernanda Hegewisch, Carla Buch Molina, Luciana Gonzalez Guerra and Tanimara Macari Carrillo, finishing third, fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

After winning the CSI2* Banorte Trophy speed class yesterday, Vallejo once again stopped the clock over a second faster than second place Marcelo Galan (MEX) and Intero Oh for his second victory in two days.

The CWD Trophy welcomed over thirty competitors to the Campo Marte grass field.  Seventeen horse and rider combinations mastered Anderson Lima’s (BRA) first round to return for the jump-off.  Five pairs finished double clear, and Franco Huesca (MEX) aboard Brigitte were fastest of the five for the win.

With speedy four-fault scores from previous competitors, Huesca set the double clean standard at 39.13.  Several riders attempted to best his score and only one came within close to half of a second:  Fernando Rodriguez (MEX) riding Calvina Z, who picked up the second place prize, clean in 39.78.  Ana Paula Garcia piloted E. Rubertha to third place, double clean in 40.09.
