Delaveau wins the Los Angeles times trophy
The five star competitions at the inaugural Longines Los Angeles Masters kicked off yesterday, with a win for Patrice Delaveau in the 1.45 speed class Los Angeles Times Trophy. The French rider is a speed specialist, and on his superfast 12 year old mare Ornella Mail HDC (Lando x Alligator Fontaine) Patrice recorded the fastest time of the day at 56.61 seconds – and also added another Masters win to his tally. "I am very happy with my victory today," said Patrice following his win. "It's a beautiful show, but really you don't know if you are in Paris, Hong Kong or Los Angeles because the three shows are quite the same," smiled the double silver medallist from the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy.

Ireland's Darragh Kenny continued his excellent form to finish second on the only 8 year old Chin Quidam VDL (Chin Chin x Quidam de Revel), in a time of 59.11. Third was the Netherland's Jur Vrieling – who was on the gold medal winning Dutch team in Normandy – riding Zavall VDL (Casall x Emilion) to a time of 59.28 seconds.
