Dermott Lennon Takes a Speedy Win at Šamorín
Ireland’s show jumping rider Dermott Lennon rode to the top of the Thursday, July 27, 2017 feature competition at X-Bionic Summer Tour CSI4* in Šamorín, Slovakia, kicking off the second week of this series located at one of the most talked-about new venues in the world.

For Lennon, the Thursday 1.50m speed class was business as usual, and when he laid down a time of 64.20 seconds aboard the 15-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare (Limmerick x Jack of Diamonds), it would clearly be hard to beat.

Italy’s Uliano Vezzani built a day 1 track for familiarization, helping 19 riders go clear and no time faults at all put on the board.

The UAE’s Mohammed Al Hajri led the class for many rounds after crossing the finish timers in 67.42 seconds with Pour le Poussage, but he would eventually slot into 3rd after Belgium’s Constant Van Paesschen came closest to Lennon in 65.36 seconds with Carlow van de Helle.

The start list of 60 presented a varied group of riders, all here in Samorin to take advantage of the friendly competition atmosphere and superior facilities. Competition continues through Sunday afternoon.
