Aboard his Selle Français gelding, Rokfeller de Pleville Bois Margot, Aznar has delivered a series of consistent results in the first quarter of the 2024 season to secure the pole position going into the Longines Global Champions Tour of Madrid. A top ten finish in Doha coupled with a fourth place in Miami and a podium finish in Mexico City has positioned Aznar at the top of the leaderboard with 97 points.

Going into next week’s stop in his home country, Aznar will be eager to deliver a stellar performance for the local crowd in Spain. Securing a podium finish in Madrid will be all the more meaningful for the Spanish rider with the 19 year old Rokfeller. Competing together on the tour since 2015, Aznar and Rokfeller are a unique example of what can come of such a strong bond between horse and rider.

The two will be on the hunt for points in Madrid as Aznar hopes to maintain his lead with his longtime partner. Aznar has said “Rockefeller is 19 and it is probably his last season, so it means a lot for me.” Going into the LGCT Grand Prix of Madrid, Aznar holds a five point lead over second place Max Kühner, with both riders set to compete next weekend in Madrid.
