50 combinations entered the show ring to jump the difficult first round. Eight of them managed to jump the first round without much trouble and came back for the all-deciding jump-off.
In that jump-off it was Peder Fredricson who managed to keep his good form of the last days. After winning the Nations Cup earlier this weekend as a member of the Swedish team, he once again got to add a 5*star Grand Prix victory to his list.
He saddled his 11-year old top horse H&M All In to ride to the first place. This Kashmir van Schuttershof son left the wood untouched and finished in 40,46 seconds. With this he was less then 0,50 seconds faster then the Irish rider Cian O'Conner and his Good Luck (f. Canturo). This BWP stallion didn't touch a fence and finished in 40,46 seconds.
The third place went to the Dutch rider Marc Houtzager. He really wanted to win in front of his home crowd, just like all the other Dutch riders, but eventually his time of 40,59 second wasn't fast enough to beat Fredricson and O'Connor. Houtzager and Sterrehof's Calimero (f. Quidam de Revel) therefore had to take peace with the third place.
The fourth place went to the Portuguese rider Luciana Diniz. With her 13-year old top mare Fit For Fun (f. For Pleasure) she jumped a clear jump-off and finished in 42,02 seconds. Harrie Smolders and Don VHP Z (f. Diamant de Semilly) completed the top five. They left all fences untouched and finished in 42,22 seconds.
