Gregory Wathelet takes impressive CSI4* Grand Prix victory in Liège

In Liège it was Gregory Wathelet who concluded his fourstar competition in style. Only three combinations produced a double clear round in the 1.60m CSI4* Grand Prix. Wathelet speeded to victory aboard the Calvados Z-son, Mjt Nevados S. After two clear rounds in 33.79 seconds the Belgian show jumper took a big advantage on compatriot Dominique Hendrick.

The new Belgian Champion followed as runner up in the saddle of Gilbert De Roock's Koriano van Klapscheut (Lord Z). Together with the Belgian Warmblood gelding, Hendrick stopped the time on 35.56 seconds. Brazil's Pedro Junquiera Muylaert completed the stage with the Z-stallion, Prince Royal Z Mfs (Prince de Revel).

Both with one jumping fault Bryan Balsiger (Clouzot de Lassus, f. Ugano Sitte) and Dayro Arroyave with Tal Milstein's Alicante (Casall) followed in a fourth and fifth place.
