Henrik von Eckermann wins challenging CSIO5* Grand Prix in Sopot
The CSIO5* Grand Prix 1,60m in Sopot tonight really stood out. Not only were the riders able to collect a lot of points for the Longines ranking, the class also counted as a qualifier for the WEG in Tryon this year and the EU-CH of Rotterdam next year. The Swedish rider Henrik von Eckermann claimed the victory with Castello, a ten-year-old Westphalian gelding by Cristallo. They went clear in both rounds and finished in 45,86 seconds in the second.

Margie Goldstein-Engle followed for the US with fourteen-year-old Royce (Cafe Au Lait) in 46,4 seconds, just 0,06 second faster than Poland's Jaroslaw Skrzyczynski and Chacclana (Chacco Blue). They went ahead of fellow countryman Wojciech Wojcianiec and his stallion Naccord Melloni (Nabab de Reve). Germany's Denis Nielsen and DSP Cashmoaker (Calido I) closed the top five.
