The first rider entering the arena for the jump-off was Gregory Wathelet. This Belgian rider was the first rider to enter the show ring for the initial round and the first rider to clear the course. He went fast as lightening with his 14-year old BWP stallion Eldorado van het Vijverhof (f. Thunder van Zuuthoeve) but he kicked one fence down.

The first rider to ride a clear jump-off was the Portuguese rider Rodrigo Almeida. With GC Chopin's Bush (f. Contendro II) under the saddle he cleared the course in 34,75 seconds. This would result in a fourth place.

Christophe Vanderhasselt entered on second place. He and Identity Vitseroel (f. Air Jordan Z) jumped a clear round in 33,77 seconds. One of Mechelen's favorites, Jos Verlooy really wanted to give Mechelen a Belgian victory so he went fast as lightening with Igor (f. Emerald van't Ruytershof). He and the 10-year old gelding kept the zero on the score board and finished in 34,25 seconds, enough for the third place.

The top five was completed by Dayro Arroyave who cleared the course with Alicante (v. Casall).
