John Whitaker takes first LGCT Rome win
For the first time ever the Longines Global Champions Tour is heading for Italy's capital, Rome. The ancient city, located between seven hills, used all its history and assets to impress. A beautiful setting couldn't even ruin the small storm that passed by this afternoon.

It was British show jumper, John Whitaker who claimed the first ever LGCT Rome-victory. In the 1.45m opening class he took the win aboard Castlefield Cristobal 21, finishing his course in 30.84 seconds. Switzerland's Jane Richard Philips and Pablo de Virton followed after a clear round in 31.54 seconds.

A total of 34 riders classified for the second phase, where no less then 28 finished clear. Home-rider Emanuele Bianchi (Zycalin W) completed the stage with a third place. Sergio Alvarez Moya (Red Star d'Argent), Jaime Azcarraga (Anton) and Pilar Lucrecia Cordon (Nuage Bleu) followed in a fourth, fifth and sixth spot.

For the USA it was Lauren Hough (Cornet 39) who set the best record, finishing 14th. LGCT-lady, Edwina Tops Alexander (Caretina de Joter) advanced in the 13th place.
