Jur Vrieling: "He's getting back into shape"

Dutch showjmper Jur Vrieling and his top horse VDL  Zirocco Blue N.O.P. haven't been seen on the international stage since their appearance at the Rio Olympic Games. Now Jur Vrieling has given a rough outlook on when the grey stallion might be back in action.

During the first classes at the Olympics the grey shocked showjumping nation the Netherlands and surely his rider by several atypical stops that led to disqualification. The last couple of months Vrieling invested in regaining the trust of his 4-legged partner, and guiding him back to his former confidence and easyness.

To our collegues of "De Hoefslag" the Vrieling announces a soon comeback of the KWPN-bred stallion: "He is getting back into shape, and we are getting along quite well. I think we can be back in about a month."

In the meantime Vrieling is also satisfied with the progress of one of his other horses, Corporal, who moved to his stables this summer. "He has a lot of potential and capacity, and in addition he is a really careful horse. He has a big future ahead. Also his offspring seems to perform great, which is why VDL Stud brought him back from Sweden." After a successfull performance in Poland the combination will enter the arena of Jumping Indoor Maastricht that is taking place in November.
